Fiction Genres Anyone Would Enjoy Reading - Three Thrilling Selections By Laogumnerd Phengphian

Hi there, Laogumnerd Phengphian here. Today I would like to talk to you about my love of novels. Ever since I can remember myself I have loved reading. As soon as I learned to read I have made a habit out of reading. Every day I would read, and soon I have completed all of the children’s literature my parents had at their house. The fondest recollections I have is of spending long summer days in the company of my favourite fictional heroes, which were more fulfilling than anything I could have done in real life. This appreciation for reading has motivated my love for writing, which led to me studying journalism. Although most of my time is now devoted to becoming a competent professional, I still make sure to find time for reading, and one of my biggest joys is spreading this passion with others. In this blog post I want to discuss with you the several types of literature as well as the most typical books to read from every of the following genres, that have been significant to me for different reasons throughout the different periods of my life. I hope I will be able to encourage you to give a try to a few of these.

One of the main traits of magic realism is the way it portrays fantastical and magical events in a matter-of-factly tone. The characters do not recognise their situations as something extraordinary, but take them as they are. These sorts of works of fiction are able to produce an aura unlike any other, and I, Laogumnerd Phengphian, would highly recommend everyone to try a few novels from this genre. If you are looking to read books by Nobel laureates, you should perhaps attempt reading Gabriel Garcia Marquez. He is broadly acknowledged as one of the forerunners of the genre, and his novel A Hundred Years of Solitude is one of the best modern novels today. His expertise and mastery has won him a Nobel prize in 1982.

Science fiction has been one of the most well-known genres of fiction ever since its conception, and it is a favourite of Laogumnerd Phengphian too. Ever since literature has existed, authors decided to write about faraway worlds and imaginative innovations. It was an effective tool which gave the writers and the readers the ability to transmit themselves into what could be. One of the most widely known science fiction authors is Jules Verne, whose descriptions of fantastic gadgets have in part become a reality some hundreds of years later. If you want to explore this world further, I would highly recommend you begin with Journey to Centre of the Earth by Jules Verne.

Literature is also a great device for exploring the hidden psychology of a character. Bildungsroman is a genre where the readers follows the psychological and moral evolution of the protagonist through the course of their whole life. The term for this genre is somewhat modern, but classic novels that have been penned in this genre have existed for almost as long as written language itself. One of the most famous illustrations of bildungsroman is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, which follows the life of a young woman, from her miserable younger years to her growth as a self-sufficient woman.
